Christmas Food Appeal Application 2018 is now over for this year, thank you for your support.
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Clonmel Lions members will collect food for those in need. In co-ordination with the local supermarket, we hand out leaflets in the entrance area of the supermarket asking shoppers to buy an extra non-perishable food items (like pasta, rice, tinned vegetables, soft drinks, sweets or Christmas goodies) and then place it in the trolleys provided after the check-out.
Every year we are astounded by the generosity of the local community and supermarkets who last year matched the value of the food we had received!
We then spend time creating boxes with a variety of food and drink and they are distributed, locally to families and individuals who have requested support. The demand for these boxes is increasing annually, especially after the economic stresses people have been under for the last few years. However thanks to the support of people from Clonmel, last year we managed to deliver 350 plus which was a great achievement!
If you are in need of support for 2018 and would like to apply for a food box please complete the application above and submit. Alternatively you can write to us (check local press for details).
If you need help urgently please contact St Vincent De Paul who organise food deliveries at alternative times during the year.
